The way me and my friends use to play craps was pretty simple. This is more "streets craps rules" than if you were to go in to the casino.
You start with two dice. (Obviously)
Each player rolls one dye. (Highest number gets to roll first.)
Both players put down their bets on the ground.
Once it's your turn to roll, your first roll determines your "point." (Example: You roll a 6 on your first roll so that is your "point.")
If you roll a '7' or '11' on your very first roll then you win the bet and get to roll again.
If you roll a '2', '3', or '12' on the first roll then you lose your bet but can either "stay on dice" (keep rolling) or have to give up your turn. This usually depends on how people play and should be established before you start. (The reason for these numbers as an "instant loss" is because there is only one combination for these numbers.)
Once you have a "point" you roll until you either hit it and win the bet or roll a '7' and "crap out" (lose your bet and have to hand over the dice.)
And that's how I played craps back in highschool. I doubt it was any help to you but it was fun to type out. =P And if you ever want to play heads up craps with someone then that's a fun and easy way to do it!
Oh I almost forgot. You can do this in the middle of the street.. (though illegal and not highly recommended)
Once everyone places their bets on the ground TAKE THEM and run off quickly screaming "I'm RICH BITCH!!!". This is an easy way to A) get quick cash or B) get your ass kicked. Both are highly entertaining and dangerous but well worth the risk. You're getting pot odds here. I think you should call!
Anyway...
