It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. Just about any movie every made can be attained through a movie download site now. Check out these samples.Bram Stoker's Dracula: Count Dracula is on a mission to find the one woman he truly ever loved. HE wants to be eternally reunited with her. He leaves Transylvania and goes to London to see if a woman who looks exactly like his love of centuries ago is in fact the woman he searches for.Fantastic Invasion of The Planet Earth: Discharged theatrically in 3-D, this movie was pretty much a disaster. A young couple finds themselves caught in a deserted town encircled in a mammoth bubble. The original title, The Bubble, was far less deceiving: there are no foreigners and no "invasion" in fact, and not much enthusiasm, either. Cast includes Filmed in widescreen Space-Vision. (91 minutes, 1996)Eagle Eye: After an attack on a potential terrorist proves to be false, America finds that it is under attack by terrorist forces. This sets off a chain of events that seem inexplicable. It turns out that the central analysis computer has deemed the actions of the government as against the people. The computer is taking action.Muse Concert: Paper thin yet cute romantic comedy in reference to a cleaned-up '80s pop megastar (Permit) who gets a huge break getting to perform an original melody with a modern day music megastar (Bennett) if he can only find a lyricist with whom he could work with. Permit is at his best, throwing off a constant flow of ludicrous lines. (96 minutes, 2007)Cast includes Hugh Permit, Drew Barrymore, Brad Garrett, Kristen Johnston, Campbell Scott, and Haley Bennett.Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: Try to link melodies from The Beatles' classic album into some kind of tale line just doesn't work; patterns range from reasonable to humiliating. As to The Bee Gees performing ability, well let's just say that they are not the Beatles. Cast includes Peter Frampton, The Bee Gees, George Bums, Sandy Farina, and Steve Martin. (111 minutes, 1978)From Nashville with Music: Some excellent country and western music, although one would be better served to purchase one of the actors' albums rather than agonizing through this tale of a New York couple who go to the Grand Ole Opry by accident. Cast includes Marilyn Maxwell, Leo G. Carroll, Pedro Gonzalez, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, and Buck Owens. (87 minutes, 1969)The Great Race: Long, occasionally ludicrous, often labored comedy, not the best ever made as promoted. Fight pattern and barroom fight are highlights, although the pie scene falls flat, and other gimmicks don't work. This is absolutely a mixed bag, some parts good and some bad. Cast includes Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon, Peter Falk, Keenan Wynn, Larry Storch, and George Macready. (150 minutes, 1965)Roll Bounce: A group of skate-admiring adolescents on Chicago's South Side have to prove themselves to the snobs on the other side of town while their local skating rink closes, all when facing the pleasures and pangs of growing up. As craze-based coming of age films go, this is a notch or two underneath Saturday Night Fever and an advancement over Roller Boogie. Cast includes Droop Wow, Chi McBride, Mike Epps, Wesley Jonathan, Kellita Smith, Meagan Excellent, and Tim Kazurinsky. (112 minutes, 2005)Black Mask: Biologically machinated warrior Li gives up a peaceful life to battle his comparably improved former colleagues, who are trying to take over the Hong Kong rackets. Clever, fashionable, lightning paced thriller is a superlative showcase for the illuminating abilities of Li who, in his camouflage, looks like the Green Hornet's Kato.
